PETER'S GREAT CATCH

Peter and his brother, Andrew, had been out fishing all night but hadn't caught anything. They decided to wash their nets and go home to rest. They were very disappointed. They really needed those fish to feed their families and to sell so they could buy other things they needed.

Jesus walked by and asked, "Have you caught anything?"

"No," they replied. "We've been out all night and have caught nothing."

"Go out into deep water and drop your net on the other side of the boat," Jesus told them.

"If there were no fish on one side of the boat," they thought, "why should we expect to find any on the other side?" But they replied, "If you say so, we will do it."

They were very tired, and rowing out into the deep water was very hard work. They were finally ready to drop the net into the water. They watched it disappear under the water, just as they had done all night. Then, they started to pull it up. But it pulled so hard that they were sure it was caught on something under the water. They pulled harder, but it wouldn't come up.

"Come out and help us!" they called to others on the shore. Soon there were many others pulling on the net, and it started to lift out of the water. What they saw in the net, they could hardly believe. It was so full of fish that the net started to tear. Soon both boats were so full of fish they were about to sink. Now they had plenty of fish for their families and to sell, too. And all because they did what Jesus told them to do.

When you obey Jesus, He will provide all you need too. Trust Him, and do as He says.
